By checking the boxes listed here, the nominee to be included in the annual Hilary Tham Capital Collection submission process understands the following.

Labor from the volunteer was donated to further the mission of the organization.

ONLY poets who have donated their time and talent to a literary cause are eligible to submit to this imprint. Submissions to this imprint are invitational only.

Anyone nominated by a qualifying literary nonprofit or other charitable effort will be invited by The Word Works to submit.

An outside judge reads submissions without identifying information; selection is on the basis of literary merit.

All selected books are published under a standard contract.

We will help support the book if it is published, to the extent of our ability. Such support may include providing space for a launch party hosted by the poet, sharing an announcement with our community, and/or encouraging reading and use of the poet’s work as appropriate. This obligates us to no expense, but we may pay the $25 submission fee for the poet if we choose to.

We will mail a check for this fee with the understanding that The Word Works will communicate any remaining responsibility to the poet before they submit a manuscript.
