New Authors Read at AWP!

Join us 5:30-&PM on Friday, March 6, just a few blocks from the AWP convention center in Baltimore for celebratory food, drink, and POETRY!

At 550 Washington Blvd., The Hampton Inn, The Baltimore Room.

New Word Works authors Lindsay Ahl, Marina Blitshteyn, Mary Block, Luisa Caycedo-Kimura, Alyse Knorr, Arden Levine, Jendi Reiter, Brad Richard, and Roger Sedarat will share poems from their 2025 and 2026 collections. Other recent Word Works authors will be joining in the festivities as time allows, including Nathalie Anderson, Henry Crawford, Debbie Kuan, Leah Umansky, and more. FREE and open to the public!

After a brief break at 7, Karren Alenier will lead readings from her project From the Belly: Poets Respond to Gertrude Stein’s Tender Buttons, Vol. III Rooms. Poets will read their portion of “Rooms,” discuss the basis for their response, then each share the poem they wrote in response to Stein’s landmark work. Come for the innovation; leave inspired!
