JoAnne Growney is a poet and mathematician, a former professor, a Pennsylvanian who moved near Washington, DC in retirement.  Her poems often are inspired by the farm where she grew up, by visual art, and mathematics.  Growney publishes a blog, “Intersections – Poetry with Mathematics,” that combines  these arts.  Author of numerous  journal articles and poem-publications, co-editor of a math-poetry anthology — Strange Attractors (AK Peters, 2008) — and several poetry collections, including Red Has No Reason (Plain View  Press, 2010).
